On 22nd November, 1914, the 1st Royal Warwickshire battalion of 10 Brigade, 4th Division moved into trenches at St Yves, near Ploegsteert in Belgium. On the following day, 23rd November, the day on which George Jackson was killed, they had to contend with constant sniping from all sides which resulted in the death of two men. |
